When I last wrote about DECAP, it was the start of lockdown due to the global pandemic, and he was giving back to the music producer community with Drums That Knock Vol. Free. And since then, he was also part of an A-list team led by Cymatics to release a charity sample pack to raise money and awareness for the Black Lives Matter movement. They succeeded in their goal and raised an incredible $150,000! Now, DECAP brings beatmakers and music producers the ninth volume in his legendary Drums That Knock sample pack series. It’s no surprise that DECAP delivers fire with Drums That Knock Vol. 9.
DECAP released the very first Drums That Knock back in March of 2016. And since then you’ll find these samples and loops in the music projects of such chart toppers like Beyonce, Camilla Cabello, Russ, and many others. Drums That Knock Vol. 8 also went Platinum on Splice.
I once had the privilege of rocking a beat produced by DECAP way back on my 2013 project. You can give that throwback a listen below.
What’s included in Drums That Knock Vol. 9?
But back into the present and the future, Drums That Knock Vol. 9 is groundbreaking, as always. Many of the sounds in this sample pack were run through Studer, and Telefunken tape machines, EMU SP-12 (crazy on the 808s) and other analog gear for extra depth, width and texture. All of these sounds are crafted precisely to pop or knock out your mix and are compatible with any DAW. I loaded them right up into my MPC Live.
This is what’s included in Drums That Knock Vol. 9:
