Los Angeles native Laura Katz is the founder of music supervision company Supe Troop. Katz previously led Cutting Edge Group’s Los Angeles music supervision services for film, TV, video games, and other visual media projects. In addition to creative music supervising, she oversaw music department services such as bespoke composition, clearance, licensing, soundtrack album releases, and more. Katz’s notable music supervision film credits include The Grey, That Awkward Moment, Stuck in Love, Chappaquiddick, and Big Time Adolescence. She also worked on Insomniac Games’ Xbox One game, Sunset Overdrive, which earned her a nomination for a Guild of Music Supervisors Award.
Additionally, Katz works with directors and producers to create opportunities for original songs in films, such as the original end title song from The Right Kind of Wrong, “It’s No Mistake,” which won the Meilleure Chanson Originale (Achievement in Music – Original Song) award at the Canadian Screen Awards in 2014 and “Requiem for a Private War” by Annie Lennox from A Private War, which was nominated for the 2019 Golden Globe for Best Original Song, Motion Picture.
